Inclusion and Diversity

We want Liontown to be a place where everyone feels welcome, valued, and supported to do their best work. That means building a workplace where differences are respected, barriers are actively removed, and every person can thrive.

What inclusion looks like here

Mining hasn’t always been an industry known for inclusion. We’re working to change that through the practical, everyday things that make a real difference to how people experience work at Liontown.

We value individual contributions regardless of gender, nationality, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, disability, ethnicity, cultural background, religious beliefs, political conviction, or life experience. We support and advocate for inclusion and diversity in our dealings, our dialogue, our decision-making, and our processes. And we encourage open communication and a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

We know that feeling safe, comfortable, and respected on-site matters. Here are some of the ways we’re making that happen at Kathleen Valley.

Strong security measures across the Dragonfly Village and site, including CCTV at every accommodation unit door and throughout all public spaces.

Period products are provided free in female bathrooms across the village and site, so women have one less thing to worry about at work.

Highly acclaimed training provided by a respected Tjiwarl trainer for all permanent site personnel.

A dedicated women’s-only area in the gym, so everyone has a space where they feel comfortable staying active on site.

Our Aboriginal apprenticeship program supports First Nations people to build long-term careers in mining, with structured training and development from day one.

We understand that your life outside of work matters. Liontown offers paid parental leave for both primary and secondary carers, because welcoming a new family member shouldn’t mean choosing between your career and being present for the people who matter most.

We also consider flexible work practices that help individuals meet domestic responsibilities, and we provide strategies for workplace accessibility for people with disabilities.

We don’t just talk about inclusion, we hold ourselves to it. Liontown takes a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination on any grounds. We’re committed to fostering a workplace that is free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying. Here’s what that means in practice:

  • Striving for gender parity across workforce participation, leadership, recruitment, retention, and career development, and publishing our progress annually.
  • Understanding and acting on workplace barriers to increase female workforce participation, including setting measurable diversity metrics and reporting outcomes.
  • Providing equal opportunity to all individuals across every stage of employment, from recruitment through to career development and leadership.
  • Promoting understanding and respect for diverse cultures, with a particular focus on Tjiwarl Native Title Holders and other culturally significant groups.
  • Ensuring a confidential grievance process is available for anyone who needs to raise a concern.
  • Empowering each other to celebrate differences by attracting, retaining, and developing a diverse workforce where people feel valued and supported to perform their best.

We recognise that our team, customers, community, and our shareholders all benefit from the diverse perspectives that come from a genuinely inclusive workplace.
