Working at Kathleen Valley, Western Australia
Kathleen Valley isn’t just a major lithium operation; it’s where experienced mining professionals build rewarding careers with a company that genuinely supports its people.
Our site is located in Tjiwarl country, in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields region near the towns of Leinster, Leonora and Wiluna and close to other established mining operations.
Your roster and getting here
Most roles at Kathleen Valley operate on an 8:6 roster (eight days on, six days off), giving you meaningful time at home between swings.
The flight between Perth Airport and Kathleen Valley takes approximately one hour, followed by a short bus ride to site.
The Dragonfly Village – your home on site
Our on-site accommodation is called the Dragonfly Village. From the sky, it’s shaped like a dragonfly. The design was inspired by a Tjiwarl Dreamtime story, created out of respect for the Traditional Owners of the land on which we operate.
The Dragonfly Village is only a 10-minute drive from the main work areas, including the Mine Services Area, Processing and Maintenance Offices, and Administration Offices. Regular coaster buses run between the village and site offices around shift start and finish times, so getting to and from work is straightforward.
Your room
Every room at the Dragonfly Village is your own private space. Each comes with a spacious ensuite bathroom, wardrobe, desk, comfortable bed with bedside table and lamp, smart TV, and a fridge. CCTV operates outside every accommodation unit door and across all public spaces for your safety and peace of mind.
Dining
Our dining room is led by an award-winning chef who takes camp food seriously. Breakfast and dinner are served daily, with both buffet and à la carte menus available. Before you head to work, you can also prepare your crib pack for lunch using the dedicated prep area.
After hours
When you knock off, the Dragonfly Village has plenty of ways to unwind:
- The gym: Fully equipped with weights and cardio machines, personal trainers available to support your fitness goals, and a dedicated women’s-only area.
- Running track and sports courts: For those who prefer to train outdoors or get a game going with teammates.
- The tavern: A selection of beers, wines and pub meals, with pool tables, table tennis, booth seating and an outdoor pavilion with couches, high tables and music.
- Retail shop: Pick up barista-made coffee, treats and everyday essentials without leaving the village.
